AGE SPOTS Top of page
Freckles, “age spots”, “liver spots”, and various birthmarks are just a few of the commonly known marks, generally referred to as pigmented lesions. Although most brown spots are easily ignored, many are quite conspicuous and can detract from your skin’s natural beauty.

Melanin is what gives our skin its color. Dark or light complexioned, we all have varying amounts of melanin. Pigmented lesions are dark in color simply because melanin is abnormally concentrated in one area of the skin. High concentrations of melanin can be due to various factors. Some types are present at birth, but most occur with age or as a result of overexposure to the sun’s damaging rays.

Pigmented lesions can be successfully lightened or removed with modern laser technology.

Anti-Aging / Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Top of page
Ageless Aesthetics offer treatments for men and women using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). These treatments are administered by doctors and other highly trained medical staff. BHRT replaces a number of hormones, and serves as one of many treatments for menopause and andropause. BHRT uses testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and other hormones and alternative therapies.

BOTOX© Top of page
BOTOX© Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow’s feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX© injections block nerve impulses, weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX© may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.

Chemical Peel Top of page
Sun exposure, acne or just getting older can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred. If you want your skin to look smoother and younger, consider a chemical peel, which uses a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers.

A chemical peel, also called chemexfoliation or derma peeling, is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands.

Dermal Fillers Top of page
Dermal fillers and injectables are used to smooth out and create volume in areas of the skin that have aged and wrinkled over time. They include a variety of substances such as collagen, hyaluronic acid and other materials both naturally-occurring and man-made. They can be used to plump lips, smooth out wrinkles on the forehead or around the face, and to prevent the motion which displays wrinkles.

Facials Top of page
A facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin to promote clear, well-hydrated skin. A facial is the second most popular spa treatment after massage. It is sometimes called a “deep-cleansing facial” or or “deep-pore cleansing” facial because of extractions.

Hair Removal Top of page
Whether for hygienic or cosmetic reasons, women and men who are tired of temporary, often painful methods of removing unwanted hair on the face, back, legs or other body areas may welcome laser hair removal with relief.

Lasers produce highly focused, intense beams of light. Dark pigments in the hair follicles beneath the skin’s surface absorb this light and convert it to heat, destroying the follicles and preventing hair growth for up to two years.

Multiple treatments are required for complete hair removal. Treatments are needle-free and do not require anesthesia. Most patients feel nothing more than a slight sting like the snap of a rubber band.

It is possible that some hair will grow back, though it is usually finer and lighter than what was originally removed. There may also be some redness and swelling following the procedure.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Top of page
It’s all about using beams of light. Laser skin resurfacing is also known as a laser peel, laser vaporization or lasabrasion. Your surgeon uses the laser to send short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin. This removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner one layer at a time. This targeted approach means there are fewer problems with hypopigmentation, or a lightening of skin for procedures such as laser acne scar removal.

LATISSE™ Top of page
LATISSE™ solution is a once-nightly treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes, as instructed by your doctor. Then, gradually, the results come in. You may start to see more length in as little as 4 weeks and you should achieve full growth in 16 weeks. It’s not an illusion of growth. It’s real lash growth.

NovaLash Extensions Top of page
Eyelash extensions are the hot new rage. Semi-permanent eyelash extensions that give you longer, thicker and very natural looking eyelashes. They look so natural no one will know they are not yours! Eyelash extensions are worn by famous celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Star Jones, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Gwen Stefani, Lucy Liu, Naomi Campbell and Liz Hurley to name a few. But you don’t have to be a celebrity to wear them. Women everywhere are catching on and becoming Lash Addicted.

Permanent Makeup Top of page
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast’s areola, such as after breast surgery.

Profractional Laser Top of page
There are many innovations constantly introduced in the field of cosmetic enhancement. The ProFractional laser treatment is evidence of this. A better version of laser skin treatments, the Profractional laser treatment is more aggressive yet less harmful than most other laser enhancements for the skin. The ProFractional treatment is primarily applied on the face, but other parts of the body can undergo the procedure as well.

PureLipo™ Top of page
PureLipo™ is an innovative, minimally invasive technique that sculpts and contours your body into a more sleek and desirable form by removing unwanted areas of excess fat from between the skin and muscle using a small tube or cannula. The PureLipo™ bodysculpture technique provides significant advantages over traditional liposuction.

Dr. Walraven is one of only three doctors licensed in the State of Georgia to perform this procedure.

Sclerotherapy / Laser Leg Veins Top of page
Diminish unsightly ‘spider veins’. Millions of women are bothered by spider veins – those small yet unsightly clusters of red, blue or purple veins that most commonly appear on the thighs, calves and ankles.

Today, many physicians are treating spider veins with sclerotherapy. In this rather simple procedure, veins are injected with a sclerosing solution, which causes them to collapse and fade from view. The procedure may also remedy the bothersome symptoms associated with spider veins, including aching, burning, swelling and night cramps.

Although this procedure has been used in Europe for more than 50 years, it has only become popular in the United States during the past decade. The introduction of sclerosing agents that are mild enough to be used in small veins has made sclerotherapy predictable and relatively painless.

SilkPeel© Top of page
SilkPeel© is a new, breakthrough procedure that combines precision exfoliation with Dermalinfusion to address patient-specific skin conditions. Operating on a closed-loop vacuum system, the SilkPeel’s diamond treatment head exfoliates the skin while simultaneously delivering a topical dermaceutical at a controlled intensity.

SkinTyte© Top of page
SkinTyte© is a revolutionary new method of skin tightening with no downtime. Unlike Thermage or other lasers that aim to tighten skin noninvasively, SkinTyte© is generally painless and requires no anesthesia. It can be used in multiple areas of the body, including the neck, face, arms, and abdomen.

A probe utilizes radio frequency energy to heat the underlying tissue which acts to tighten collagen and the overlying skin. Results can often be dramatic. Multiple treatments are usually recommended.

Tattoo Removal Top of page
There was a time when… tattoos were truly permanent. That is not the case anymore. Thanks to major developments in medicine and lasers, the removal of tattoos no longer results in disfiguring scars.

Prices for tattoo removal vary, depending on the size and colors of the tattoo.

Thermography Top of page
Current research has determined that the key to breast cancer survival rests upon its earliest possible detection. If discovered in its earliest stages, 95% cure rates are possible.

Infrared Full Body Imaging is a totally safe and painless imaging procedure that uses no radiation, injections, or other invasive procedures. Using technology developed by NASA and the aerospace sciences, the process employs sophisticated infrared cameras and computer systems to detect infrared thermal (heat) abnormalities emanating from the surface of the body.

Teeth Whitening Top of page
Your smile is important. It’s one of the first things you notice when you meet someone. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful – it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression.

Your lifestyle and the aging process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine or smoking.

Whitening can get your smile looking its best.

Weight Loss / Metabolic Testing Top of page
Understanding metabolism is difficult because it is highly personal. There are formulas and ways to guess what your metabolic rate may be, but unless you actually get a metabolic test done, the estimations may be inaccurate. Too many calories results in weight gain, but too few can slow metabolism and hinder weight loss as well. Knowing your metabolic rate will aid in weight loss, as it will help you figure out how many calories you need to consume to maintain daily energy needs without going overboard.
